Day 15 - Shamrock, TX

The word of the day is "Weather"!  We've had too many days driving in rain including today as we left Oklahoma and entered Texas.  It ended up being the perfect day to hit another Planet Fitness.  Texas has given us wind.  It was hard to keep the RV in the center of the lane because of the wind.  Doug did a great job driving through it all.  We are settled in at Lone Mound Ranch in Shamrock, TX and the wind is rocking the RV back and forth. It sounds like someone is beating on it.  We're not sure if we're going to be able to sleep.  Tonight we have lots of neighbors.  Tomorrow we're going to pick up some steaks from the Lone Mound Ranch Country store.  The picture of the road is the road to the Ranch.  Check out the speed on that road!  70MPH

Fun Facts:

- Shamrock houses an authentic fragment of the original Blarney Stone from Blarney Castle in Ireland, mounted inside a theft-resistant concrete pillar in Elmore Park.

- The town was named in 1890 by George Nickel, an Irish immigrant and sheep rancher who wanted a post office named after his heritage for good luck.

- For a small town with a population under 2,000 residents, its annual multi-day St. Patrick's Day celebration (running since 1938) routinely draws anywhere from 15,000 to 20,000 visitors.
