Day 9 - Cloverdale, IN

So happy to have the BETTY1 back on the road. She’s all fixed and ready for the adventures ahead.  When we left this morning I wondered what we would find in Cloverdale, IN.  Well, it just so happens that Indianapolis is on the way to Cloverdale so we spent a couple of hours at the Indianapolis Speedway.  It was not that busy and we were surprised how close we could get to some of the cars.  The day was for qualifying for the race tomorrow:  The Indianapolis 8 Hour sports car endurance race.

We are part of an organization called Harvest Hosts which home owners take part in by allowing campers to stay at their location overnight for free or a minor donation.  We are staying at a place called:  Silver Feathers Acres that is a large horse farm.  They have asked for a donation of $40 and we’re happy to do that.

Indianapolis Speedway Fun Facts:

- The Indy 500 holds the record as the World’s largest single-day sporting event.

- The attendance for the Indy 500 ranges from 350,000 to 400,000 people.

- The massive infield can hold landmarks such as, The Taj Mahal, the White House, the Rose Bowl Stadium and Liberty Island.
